Joe Gutts was Richard “Dick” Demske. My father was his writing partner for many years. Dick grew up in Buffalo, NY, and later moved to the NY area. Dick and my father, L. Donald “Dutch” Meyers wrote books and magazine articles under a variety of pseudonyms. I know Dick was very proud of being Joe Gutts.
