Goodbye Oly?

Rumour has it that Olympia Beer is "pausing production".

I remember when I was a kid (late 70s) some buddies of mine (RRMC!) were planning a motorcycle trip during a beer strike. We realized finding beer was going to be an issue and Oly beer was the only beer that could be found in liquor stores (if found at all). So... other than sleeping bags and a cassette stereo, all we packed was Olympia beer. I think between 4 bikes we managed 8 cases of Oly!

and of course there was the Evel aspect of Olympia Beer that was appealing as a kid

Hope to see you again old friend!

Evel in Vancouver

When Evel jumped in Vancouver
My Dad really dropped the ball on this one! I wasn't there!
Seems like the promoters had a hard time with the proper Evel Knievel spelling.
Note a very young Steve Baker cleaning up in the pre-jump races.

American Eagle

Evel used the American Eagle to jump between the years 1969 - 1970.
They paid Evel to use their motorcycles.
They were re-badged Laverdas.
Known as "The Deathtrap", they were 500 plus pounds
and Evel crashed 50% of the time using them!

The Evel Comedy Show!

Almost worth the roadtrip to Sequim!
Will Robbie be partaking in the Beer and Whiskey Social?

Evel Pie

I may have to consider a trip to Vegas just for a slice!

Evel Pinball

WOW! It's like a mini version of the more popular Evel pinball machine. This is a Bally Evel Knievel HOME version pinball machine from 1978. Very few of these pinball machines made it to the public because Evel was arrested shortly after it's release and Bally then stopped producing them.

CKLG AM

CKLG 730 AM was the rock and roll station here in Vancouver, Canada back in the 70s.
CKLG FM was even cooler. Radio Station ad for Evels Vancouver jump

Me and Evel

Vegas was great but the hi-lite had to be being able to see some rad Evel stuff and talk
with George Sedlak, the guy who painted most of Evels bikes and helmets.

One of Evels jump bikes. Can't remember which jump it was from.

The real deal... Iconic leathers and helmet

Fakes but the Evel spirit was the same

Tribute helmet Sedlak painted for something
(I really should take notes!)

Dave said I should ask to try on the helmet, so next time we went by we asked.
"No" was the answer... he had paid close to $80,000 for this one,
one of the last helmets Evel used to jump with.
But Dave wouldn't take no for an answer and proceeds to show the dude my Evel helmet tattoo.
After that, the photo shoot began!

Me and Evel share the same sweat!

Barn find American Eagle (Laverda) Evel jump bike
asking price: $20000

George Hamiltons personal Evel Sporty

Latham is an ex-skater dude who has used his money wisely - buying over 20,000 pieces of Evel memorabilia! This just came in the day we were there. Actually signeage from Evels first jump, where he jumped 2 cougars and a bunch of snakes!
